When I was younger I remember my Mom saying, “Well if all of your friends jumped off a bridge, would you??”
At midpoint debrief I answered that question three times, “Yes!”
We were staying at a hostel in Jinja, Uganda. Hanging out, free wi-fi, tenting, hot showers, rafting the Nile, and bungee jumping; we had a week of so much relaxation, and renewal.
So, I bungee jumped once on my own. I loved it. So I went again with Catherine; tandem jump. It was great… Later that afternoon though, I figured out third time is free. Might as well jump again tomorrow, right?
However, God told me something before I jumped my third time, and because of what he said, I jumped and became a different person.

Nicole! I’ve broken the chains. I’ve done everything I can. Drop them. Leave them at the top of the bridge. All I want is you to be free. I’ve given it to you, but you continue to carry the weight of your past on your shoulders. I love you my beautiful daughter. You have so much waiting for you when you jump. Remember, leaving the chains that bind you to the past up there doesn’t mean you are forgetting the past… it only means you are free from the guilt, and the shame; it means that there will be no more weight holding you back from running this race with me.
I guess it's time for me to run with God!
