Holy Spirit, you are welcome here.
come flood this place & fill the atmosphere.
your presence, God, is what our hearts long for;
to be overcome by your presence, Lord.
let us become more aware of your presence.
let us experience the glory of your goodness.
we have been singing that prayer for the past few days;
at our home & the places we go to do ministry.
we went to visit the widows for the last time yesterday
… & the Holy Spirit was there.
when we left the week before; there was some discomfort & uneasiness felt by some of my team. through some talking we discovered that the heaviness came from the same widow; her name is Annie. they noticed her violently shaking during prayer and did not feel at peace about leaving her there the way she was.
yesterday when we went, we asked the ladies if any of them needed prayer.
Annie wanted prayer.
she wanted prayer for herself; more specifically for her family.
her son and his wife have been living with her.
she told us that her daughter-in-law is a satanist.
she decided to come to Christ to find freedom from this bondage.
so we began to fight for her.
Jesus wanted her to be free.
as we prayed; she began to violently shake again.
the Holy Spirit reminded me about
how powerful the name of
JESUS is.
so we sang over & over:
“there is power in the name of Jesus;
to break every chain.”
& the shaking stopped.
& there was peace.
i was given the opportunity to share with Annie that she is a conquerer with Christ.
& that she is fighting from a position of victory;
that Jesus…. He already won for us.
i was able to tell her that through Jesus, she has power over the devil and that he cannot touch her.
we didn’t want to leave because we knew it was the last time we would get to worship here on earth with those women. but there was also joy in leaving them; they were different. there was freedom & joy in that place & in those women. i cannot wait to worship with them in heaven. oh, what a glorious day.
