I’m Not Shaking, I’m Not Letting Go

Maureen.   She is a beautiful older woman here in Malawi. Our first week of being here, her daughter was in the hospital and we prayed for her, she was healed.    The other day she came up to us because she wanted prayer to be closer and stronger in her relationship with Christ. We prayed for her. She went stiff. Something inside of her didn’t want us touching her.    Her arms were locked and completely stiff, her hands were bent in an unnatural position. She was not in control. We didn’t let go. Everything inside of me was telling me to...

Holy Spirit, you are welcome here.  come flood this place & fill the atmosphere.  your presence, God, is what our hearts long for; to be overcome by your presence, Lord.    let us become more aware of your presence.  let us experience the glory of your goodness.    we have been singing that prayer for the past few days; at our home & the places we go to do ministry.  we went to visit the widows for the last time yesterday … & the Holy Spirit was there.    when we left the week before; there was...

24/7

Today we went to an orphanage and this precious little girl came up to me as I was teaching a class, she didn’t care, she was on a mission.    She walks up to me with out saying a word and put’s her hands around my leg. Finding My Purpose

A picture. A snapshot. A perfect moment caught forever in a photograph. I wasn’t even aware it was being taken. Me, surrounded by kids, being embraced. An innocent, perfect picture that breaks my heart. I love these kids. I love these kids more than words can describe. I’ve only known them for 2 weeks. Brief encounters. They’ve stolen my heart.   This photo moves me to tears. I’m not ready to leave them. I still have 3 weeks, but it doesn’t feel like enough time. I knew when I signed up for this that I was signing up for...

here in Malawi.

it’s the rainy season here in Malawi;  when it rains, all of Lilongwe stops because the roads become rivers of red clay.  it’s a good reminder that we should stop & listen to what God has to say.  to stop & listen to the ways the Lord wants to transform my heart, my team, and the people of Lilongwe. when we leave here… we want this place to be different than the way it was when we arrived.    no one is in a hurry here in Malawi. everyone gets where they are going when they get there.  it smells different here in...
