Changing My Expectations

Training camp has been such a great journey! The first day I was really emotional and I felt like I had a hard time connecting with everyone. It was definitely a lot different than what I was expecting and I didn't think I would have so many emotions quite so soon.

Then day 2 rolled around and something in the atmosphere changed. I felt like God really pulled our team together and helped us truly bond and become united. From this moment on I felt completely connected with my team and that was an amazing feeling!

I came into training camp thinking we were just going to be taught a bunch of different guidelines and rules, but I soon realized it was so much more than that! From epic dance battles to praying over each other, God used this time to shape us into His warriors and help us grow close with our team mates. I can honestly say that God moved in such amazing ways this week! Today is the last day of training camp and I feel  like I have learned so much. I am so excited to go use all these tools I have been given this week, and I can't wait to see how God changes the lives of the people in Africa as well as my life!

As some of you may have noticed I put Matthew 5:14-16 on my prayer cards. These verses were such a great reminder, as I was preparing for this trip, that we are the light and that we need to share it with the world!

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone  light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven." -Matthew 5:14-16
