cheers; to Jesus.

as most of you know, today is Easter.  a celebration of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
friday night we met at the church for a time of worship and listened to a word from our pastor, Joseph. i was able to have time to reflect on Jesus and what his life was/is still. when celebrating Easter in the past, at home,  I kind of thought about what the meaning was; but this time was different. we typically say that Jesus loves us so much that he came and died for us. but it is so much more than that; he died knowing that he would raise back to life. he knew the power that held.
another thing I’ve been reminded of is the blood. we learned about the blood a little at training camp & we were offered a new & different perspective. we tend to think that the blood is for us. when in reality, the blood is for God. Similar to the story of Moses in Exodus, when the Passover took place the people were told to mark their houses with blood. when God saw the blood, he passed over their home & spared their first-born.
the same is for the blood of Jesus. & if we accept that grace and sacrifice of Jesus, then the blood covers us. & when God looks at us, he doesn’t see our sin or mess, but He sees the blood. & the beautiful thing is that the blood is enough.
I’m reminded that there’s nothing I can do to gain my salvation, but simply accept & rest in grace. & rest in the blood. because the blood is enough.
tonight I was able to celebrate with my sisters. we celebrated Jesus; his life, death, and resurrection. we feasted as we took communion together. we didn’t just have a cracker & a sip of juice, instead we made ourselves full because Jesus, he desires to fill us, he desires to be all that we need. he desires to overflow our cup. we sat around the candle-lit room, (because Africa often times doesn’t have power) & made toasts to Jesus.
to Jesus, my redeemer.
to Jesus, my savior.
to Jesus, my teacher.
to Jesus, my friend.
to Jesus, my love.
to Jesus, my light.
to Jesus, my comfort.
to Jesus, my intercessor.
to Jesus, my future.
to Jesus, my covering.

to Jesus.
