Planting Seeds

Journal Entry 01/30/2013

God, Thank You:

-for every seed you will plant through me

-for giving me amazing girls to do this ministry with

-for reminding me that I have people that love and support me

-for showing me that your love can be and is unconditional

-lastly, thank you for chasing after me even when I wanted to run as far as I could away; in a moment when I stumble, you pick me up and tell me, “You are still mine.”

I am in a place right now that, even though I want to go home, I know I am supposed to be here. Before this journal entry I was getting discouraged. I was loving these orphans, praising with the widows, and teaching classes, but I wasn’t seeing any results of it. There are quotes in my journal, and that day, the quote said this.

“Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”

-Robert Louis Stevenson

I love this quote because I often feel like we aren’t getting anything done here. But my life looks different here, the ministry looks different here.

I sat here earlier this evening crawling out from under my misquito net and chasing chickens out of our house. I think how did this become part of my life.

On my graduation day, less than a year ago, if you would have told me that I would be living in a tiny house in Malawi with 9 other women I would have told you that you were insane.

However, I’m loving it. We are planting so many seeds!
